Superstar Manju Warrier Visits Government Vocational Higher Secondary School, Nadakkavu supported by the Faizal and Shabana Foundation

Calicut, 4th October 2017: Celebration and excitement rang through the air as the Government Vocational Higher Secondary School, Nadakkavu, celebrated the visit of a very special guest on Wednesday, 4th October. The Lady Superstar of Malayalam cinema, Manju Warrier, visited the school and engaged with the students in the afternoon amidst student performances of dance and drama to mark her visit.

Manju, who recently appeared in the movie, Udhaharanam Sujatha, met the students in a session that resembled a candid conversation. In the light of her latest movie, they discussed the importance of education and its ability to empower women to break the glass ceiling and pursue their dreams.

“I am so happy to meet all the students and share in their endless energy. I feel everyone should put in the effort to make their lives better, and education is a step toward achieving this goal” shared Manju Warrier.

The Nadakkavu school girls participated enthusiastically in the session and shared their thoughts on the changing trends in career choices and their idea about the real meaning of success and their ambitions for the future.

Head Girl, Niranjana who also led the school tour shared. “It was truly inspiring to meet Manju Warrier, she shared her own career story with us and encouraged us to work with passion as we pursue our dreams.”

The Government Vocational Higher Secondary School for girls in Nadakkavu celebrated the fourth anniversary of its renovation with the support of the Faizal and Shabana Foundation. The once dilapidated government school now boasts of international standards and ranks among the top 3 Government schools in India. Visited by celebrities of both national and international repute, the school is a model for Indian government schools and is a success story on how they can be transformed and become at par with global standard.

Mr Jaloosh, VHSE Principal and PRISM Coordinator, shared, “The transformation of the Nadakkavu school is such a strong case-study that we have popular personalities from the Arts, Sports, Social, Political and Education field visiting the school regularly, this gives our students an opportunity to meet them and be inspired by them. Manju Warrier’s visit was truly inspiring to our students.
